My years at Peerless working for Bill were the most enjoyable years out of my entire working career. Never before (and never again) will I have a boss that is so great to work for. From the minute I joined Peerless our relationship was one more of friendship than a traditional boss/employee. Although there were many trying days working for Peerless, our numerous daily conversations always brought things back to perspective. I was glad I had to opportunity to have him as a boss and friend and will miss him deeply. With Deepest Sympathy.

Bill was my best friend at Peerless Chain for the past twenty years. I will miss his sense of humor, his laughter, his voice messages, and most of all our friendship. I loved Bill like a brother. He had a way with words and was always fun to be around. Bill was leader and well respected by everyone at Peerless Chain. I will cherish all the good memories that I had a chance to share with Bill. My thoughts and prayers go out to Thelma and the Hiland family. Roger Schultz 10/27/07

Well, where to you begin. He was always the one you could count on to make you laugh. Even if you were having a terrible day, he was there as a friend and confidant to brighten up that day. He is going to be missed by so many people, especially his Peerless family. Like others have said, we will all miss his voice messages, his emails and most of all our talks on the phone. I cherish the memories from the past twenty years that have known Bill, a.ka. "Willie"! I will cherish forever the last time I spent with him this past summer in La Crosse at Rog's house for the Sales Meeting. It was the best surprise he could have given all of us to make that visit to see the "Chain Gang" again. It was so much fun to see him. With warm regards and special prayers to Thelma and family.
