Garnet Marie Roland age 84 of DeKalb, IL died on Wednesday March 7, 2007 in the Pine Acres Rehab. And Living Center. Born on December 19, 1922 in Belvidere, IL, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Herrmann) Butz. Garnet was a loving home maker that had lived in DeKalb since 1970, moving here from Belvidere. She was a former member of the DeKalb Ladies of the Moose.
Survivors include: daughter: Marjorie Saack of DeKalb, grandchildren: Laura Johnson of Winnebago, IL., Penny Fennimore of DeKalb, Tina (Shawn) Mitchell of Lovington, IL, Mary (Joe) Logan of Decatur, IL, Randy (Marcia) Phipps of Niantic, IL., 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, one sister: Dorothy Kuntzan of DeKalb, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents, 5 brothers, and 7 sisters.
Funeral service will be held on Friday March 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home with Pastor Robert L. Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Park Cemetery DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Friday March 9, 2007 at 10:00 AM till the time of the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date.
