June B. Sinason - 87

Sycamore, IL - June B. Sinason 87, of Sycamore, a devoted Cubs fan, an avid Scrabble player, and a voracious reader, died June 22, 2010, in DeKalb.



She was born on April 28, 1923, in Chicago, where she grew up. She attended Northern Illinois State Teachers College (now NIU) and worked at The Reliable clothing store in DeKalb in the early 1940s. Moving to southern California, she worked as a cartoonist for Walt Disney Studios.



She moved to New York, where she lived and raised a family.



Over the years, she also was a fraternity and sorority housemother at the University of Florida, Arizona State University and San Diego state University. She moved back to the DeKalb-sycamore area five years ago to be near her son and his family.



She was the mother of David (Karen) Sinason of DeKalb and Carole Sinason of Mission Viejo, CA; the grandmother of Matthew (Melissa) Sinason, Joshua Sinason and Adam Sinason; and great-grandmother of Peyton Sinason.



She was the daughter of the late Karl and Irma Meyer of Chicago and the sister of the late Herb Meyer and the late Lester Meyer.



She was survived by two sisters, Ruth Edelson of Schaumburg and Alice Kopen of Plantation, FL., and by many nieces and nephews.



The graveside funeral will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11:00 am, at the Garden of Shalom at Fairview Park Cemetery, with Avi Bass of Congregation Beth Shalom of DeKalb and Sycamore officiating.
