Bette and family: I just learned of Jim's passing when I received Bettie Schultz' e-mail earlier this evening. Although I never met Jim, I considered him a good friend. As you know, he preceded me as treasurer of the 12th Armored Division Association and he was most helpful and cooperative in the transition. I lost my wife of 60 years on 11/24/09 and Jim and you sent me kind words at that time. Permit me to say that our Lord in Heaven has another good man at his right hand. One who walked the walk and just didn't talk the talk. God bless you and yours.

To all of the Stone Family; We want you to know what a honor and pleasure to have know Jim for many years. Even though our units were not the same it made no difference because for Jim it was all the 12th. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To Bette and all the Stone family, our heart- felt condolences. Jim was a special person and a special friend. He was always willing to help and to do much more than his share for the Association. Jim was responsible for getting me involved with the organisation and I am forever gratefull to him. Every time I think of him, I think of him with a broad smile. He was the fabric of the 12th Armored Division Association. May he rest in peace and may the Good Lord look after him.

To the Stone Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Stone was one-of-a-kind in the very nicest way, and a man I was glad to have met when I was young. He was smiling the last time I saw him and that smile will always be in my thoughts. Sandy Horejsi (Sersen)
