Arthur R. Cook age 80 of DeKalb, IL passed away in his residence in DeKalb on Wednesday January 6, 2010. Born on February 24, 1929 in Waterman, IL, he was the son of Arthur and Ethel (King) Cook.
Arthur was married to the former Marjorie H. Reynolds on January 13, 1946 in Angola, IN. Arthur had worked for Barber Greene Company for 20 years, and he then retired from 3M in DeKalb. He has lived in the DeKalb community since 1962, moving here from Michigan. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in DeKalb. Arthur was a member of the 3M Club in DeKalb; he enjoyed watching football games, and bowling.
Survivors include: wife: Marjorie of DeKalb, daughters: Cynthia (Bill) Thompson of OK, Karen (David) Lindeman of DeKalb, Debbie (Al) Turner of Rochelle, Melissa (Allen) Maeder of Malta, son: Brian (Faye) Cook of Ottawa, 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, brother: Donald Cook of DeKalb. Preceded in death by: parents, daughter: Janet E. Mershon, sister: Barbara Gibbs, granddaughter: Stacey Taylor, and infant granddaughter: Malina.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 9, 2010 at 11:00am in the Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Gastiger of the First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Park Cemetery DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Saturday January 9, 2010 at 9:00am till the time of the service in the funeral home.
