James L. Cadie - 76

DeKalb, IL - James L. Cadie 76, of DeKalb, IL died Sunday August 23, 2009 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital Emergency Room. Born September 24, 1932 in Sycamore, IL he was the son of George D. and Mary Alice (Redmond) Cadie of Cortland.

James graduated from DeKalb High School and was in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He then worked as a journeyman ironworker for 40 years. After retiring he owned The Venture Inn in Waterman, IL for 8 years, followed by 10 years of full-time RVing.

He was a member of the Waterman American Legion, the DeKalb Eagles and DeKalb Elks clubs for many years. He was also a member of the Indian Oaks Country Club in Shabbona, IL.

James is survived by his wife Leona of DeKalb, a daughter Teri Magill of DeKalb, a grandson Jason (Jenny) of DeKalb, two great-grandchildren Flynn and Amelia and two brothers Tom of Cortland and Gerald (June) of Texas and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers Harold, Floyd and Paul.

At his request there will be no funeral or visitation. Cremation will take place at Finch Crematory. A memorial fund is being established in care of Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home.
