Orletta Mae Vancil 82, of DeKalb died August 21, 2009 at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center. Born on September 10, 1926 in DeKalb, IL, she was the daughter of Albert H. and Ione (Henderickson) Tucker.
Orletta was married to the late James W. Vancil on November 2, 1946 in the Calvary Lutheran Church in Lee, IL, he preceded her in death on January 31, 1991. Orletta was a loving home maker, and also worked for the St. Mary’s Hospital as a Practical Nurse. She has lived all her life in the DeKalb community, and was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Sycamore.
Survivors include: daughter: Linda Lou (Lewis Adams) Christensen of Sycamore, granddaughters: Amanda Mae Christensen, and Abigail Beth (Steve Sipes), great-grandchildren: Dennes and Tasia Spyratos, brother: Gene (Nadine) Tucker of Benton, IL. Preceded in death by: parents, husband: James, sisters: Evelyn Osland, Doris Alsabrook, and brothers: Raymond and Ralph.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 26, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home with Diaconal Minister Judy Bergeson of the Salem Lutheran Church Sycamore officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery Lee, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 26, 2009 at 9:30 AM till the time of the service in the funeral home.
