DeKalb, IL - Johnny L. Langley 59, of DeKalb, IL died August 20, 2009 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Born on July 16, 1950 in Springfield, IL, he was the son of Merle and Helen Rae (West) Langley.

Johnny was married to the former Bonnie Fredrickson on March 31, 2000 in Sycamore, IL. He was laborer, truck driver, and excavator for Sorenson’s Excavating Company in Hartley, IA. Johnny has lived in the DeKalb community for over 10 years. He served in the United States Army. He loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Nascar Races, and was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Elis Presley.

Survived by: Wife: Bonnie of DeKalb, daughters: Donna Strehlo of Rock Island, IL, RaeJean Langley of Sanborn, IA, step-daughter: Melissa (George) Misailidis of CA, 7 grandchildren, brother: Wayne Langley of McLeansboro, IL, sisters: Helen (Francis) Reynolds of Eldorado, IL, Barb Smith of Lincoln, IL, Gloria Butler of Springfield, IL, Paula Jo Scott of Troy, MO, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: parents, brothers: Merle, Louie, and Charles.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 25, 2009 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church in DeKalb with Pastor Laura Crites officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 25, 2009 at 9:00AM till the time of the service in the church.
